Nintendo Switch Online Adding More GBA And N64 Games Today, Including Zelda And Perfect Dark

Nintendo announced the next wave of games for its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct. A handful of classic games are coming to the service starting today, including online play for a Zelda classic.

The Zelda game is Four Swords, a cooperative four-player Game Boy Advance game that will now feature online play to conquer its dungeons and challenges. The GBA selection is also adding Metroid: Zero Mission, the GBA retelling of the very first Metroid game that is considered a classic in its own right. Meanwhile, the N64 is getting two new entries as well: Turok Dinosaur Hunter, and the very first Perfect Dark. All of these will be available today.

New York online sportsbooks post encouraging August recovery

The nine online sportsbooks in the eastern American state of New York reportedly racked up an increase of 8.9% month-on-month in aggregated handle for August to reach a tally slightly over $872.22 million.

According to a source citing official information supplied by the New York State Gaming Commission (pdf), the August performance halted a four-month slide in combined handle that bottomed out at roughly $800.75 million in July. This latter figure was purportedly more than 42% below the $1.39 billion recorded for April and represented a 59% decline when compared with the $1.98 billion seen for the 30 days from the market’s official launch on January 8.

Oneida Nation inks Wisconsin land-based sportsbetting deal

The governor for the American state of Wisconsin has reportedly signed a new gaming compact with the Oneida Nation that is to allow the federally-recognized tribe to launch land-based sportsbetting within its casinos and affiliate locations.

According to a Thursday report from local television broadcaster WLUK-TV, the agreement inked by Governor Tony Evers (pictured) was worked out via months of negotiations between the tribe and the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Division of Gaming and must now be approved by the National Indian Gaming Commission before the expiration of a 45-day deadline.
